I am Rose. I am love. I am compassion. I am the medicine of the heart. Every year in May, I give myself to the people of the Balkan mountains who know me best. As they pick my petals, which I carefully shaped as hearts, they carry me to the distillery to extract my medicine early in the morning. I then make my way to the apothecary I am invited into and enter into dark bottles.
 
I am here to awaken your divine heart - your connection to your higher self, to oneness, to the universal mind, to eternal now, to life force, to void, to all possibilities. Because the brain thinks, but the heart knows.
 
I do this by calming your nervous system, turning down the excitement in the limbic centres of the brain, which regulates passion. I reduce your heat and redness by cooling your skin, giving it a little love - the calming one, the peaceful one, the unconditional kind, the real love. You are made to believe that infatuation, the over-excitement which lasts only a short while, is love. No, "inner peace is love".

I am an antibacterial and astringent plant, too. I tighten pores, gently tone the skin, and help your divine body balance the good and bad bacteria on your skin microbiome.
